This website provides information about remote access to European Community Statistics in the European Statistical System.

There are currently several ambitions in setting up a remote access to official microdata in Europe. Two ESSnet projects are dealing with this topic.

The ESSnet project “Decentralised Access to EU microdata sets” which has finished in January 2010 was a feasibility study whose results led to a follow up project “Decentralised and Remote Access to Confidential Data in the ESS” (DARA).

The ESSNet project DARA has started in October 2011 with duration of two years.
This project will deliver an up and running system to analyse European Community Statistics at Eurostat in Luxembourg via remote access from Safe Centres in the NSIs of the Member States.
